Here's a little bit about me. I was born and raised in Kentucky. I am an avid baseball fan. "I love the game, every part of it". I have coached, umpired, or played since I was 6. In high school I played baseball, basketball, football, and wrestled (and I was a legend in my own mind). As president of my high school graduating class I tried to bring change to our school. After graduating I started working with teenagers and have done so ever since. I have the best job in the world... coaching and encouraging teenagers and their families across America. For the past 20 plus years I have met with teenagers in small group settings and in one on one mentoring/coaching sessions.
I am a mentor/coach by calling and I love doing what I was created to do. My life vision is to help youth and their parents live full and meaningful lives.
I am married to Alisa and we have four perfect children (they gave me big bucks to say that). If you have questions or are just interested in dating one my children be sure and e-mail me. I read every note personally and respond to every note.

FOR PARENTS:
One of the most common responses I get when I tell people that I am a youth mentor/coach is: "Wow, I could have used that when I was a teenager!" This response points toward a very clear need in our culture that is currently not being adequately met. I believe there is a great yearning in today's youth for guidance from strong role models and mentors.
First, I want to thank you for looking into mentoring/coaching for your teen. Not many parents know this service is available, but the potential benefits are immense. Being a parent, especially of a teenage son or
daughter, is very challenging in this day and age. I know I have 2 of them with 2 more coming soon. With our busy lifestyle it can be very difficult to find the time to attend to everything that may be going on with your teen
son or daughter. In fact, simply being in the role of a parent can often limit how you can help your child. My wife and I have been hoping for another adult mentor to come into our children's lives' since they were born. Another adult they can vent with and receive encouragement from.
As a mentor I will work closely with you. Your input as a parent is extremely important, however my relationship with your teen is based on trust and confidentiality, and I will only communicate with you in areas
that your teen gives me express permission to, except for safety issues. Also, it is important to understand the distinction between mentoring/coaching and psychotherapy. Coaching is not appropriate for those teens that, due to emotional and/or psychological distress, are unable to function normally in their daily lives.
Mentoring/Coaching Can Help Your Teen With: Physical health and athletic goals, communication skills, relationships, family life, social life, energy level, organizational and study skills, motivation, time management skills, ability to find and hold focus, emotional health, life transitions, making big life decisions, identifying natural talents, achieving goals. In our coaching sessions we will actively go through the book:
What Is Your Life: MY Foundation.
I am also open to creating a tailor made plan for your son. If both you and your teen are open to coaching, I typically I first meet with you to understand what unique concerns and aspirations you have for your teen. Then I meet with your son to get a feel for what their unique situation is and also to assess if the relationship is a good fit. A session typically lasts 60 minutes, but we are certainly not limited to that. We generally meet in your home or a public location that has meaning in your teen's life. I also ask for a minimum 3 month commitment after the initial visit, in order to ensure we have time to make real lasting changes.
FOR TEENS:
My name is Eric. I'm very glad you made it to this part of my web page! I'm guessing this means you are little curious about who I am and what teen mentoring/coaching is, which is a big step! I was a very active busy
teenager, and I remain so today. My teenage years were wonderful and tragic. I got to play lots of sports, was friends with all types in high school, and I even got in trouble from time to time. The summer of my junior year I
lost two good friends who were murdered while on a trip together. That rocked my world. I just started playing tennis, and I alsoI coach high school baseball here in Colorado and I love music... all kinds.
Now, regardless of whether you found this site through a parent, friend, or simply out there on the web, I'm sure you're wondering a few things..."First off, who is this guy who calls himself a teen mentor/coach, and what exactly makes him think he can help me? "Secondly, what is a teen mentor/coach, how could it help me, and what would we even be doing? Do I have to sit in an office and talk about my feelings for an hour every week?" If so, I bet you are not interested, right?
I get it and that's not what I do. I provide a safe place for you to get real with your life. If you're asking these questions that means that you are engaged with your life and where it's going, and that's AWESOME! Since I was young I've had a strong desire to get to the bottom of things, to find truth, and experience what is really real. Well, I think that's a good star. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them! No question is off limits even if it's just "So, why do you like working with teens?" or "What is your favorite type of music right now?"
You can email me at
lifecoacheric@gmail.com and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I hope to hear from you. If you choose to do so, I look forward to encouraging you; assisting you as you achieve your goals,
discovering your natural talents, and helping you uncover your hidden passions.
